Saturday, August 10, 10am-12pm – South Grand – Meet me at 10am outside MoKaBe’s Coffeehouse (3606 Arsenal) and we’ll spend some time drawing scenes around the lovely South Grand commercial strip (though you’re welcome to peek across the road and take on Tower Grove Park as well) At noon, we’ll meet up at the corner of Juniata and Grand to share our sketches (and possibly make lunch plans?)
South Grand has a huge variety of restaurants and shops, and the sidewalks are wide and feature benches and trees, to provide seating and potential shade for what I suspect will be a hot August day.
Friday, August 9, 9am-11:30am – Sappington House – Unfortunately I’m not available, but you can go hang at the USk St. Louis Sketchwalk at 1015 S Sappington Rd
BONUS: August 16, 17, and 18 – I will be selling quick portraits at the St. Louis World’s Fare Heritage Festival in Forest Park. It’s not exactly a draw ‘with’ me event, but you’re more than welcome to come say hello if you are attending.
Date TBD – Location also TBD, but I’m thinking of under-represented corners of Forest Park I know that might be a good (shady) location to try out.
I’m currently teaching 1-2 workshops each month through St. Louis Art Supply. Upcoming classes include an urban sketching fountain pen workshop and a fountain pen portrait workshop.
Register and see current class schedule/details here. My upcoming class dates are:
Sunday August 11, 1pm-4pm – Fountain Pen Urban Sketching (FULL)
Sunday August 25, 1pm-4pm – Portraits and People-Sketching in Fountain Pen
You can read a lovely review of the Fountain Pen Urban Sketching class on the USk St. Louis blog, though I’ve changed the paper we’re using since then.
